====== Bridgesii “Big Perm” ======

===== Description =====
"Big Perm" is a *Trichocereus bridgesii* clone characterized by its highly distinct, exceptionally long, and curly spines. Spines on this cultivar have been reported to reach lengths of up to ten inches.

===== History & Origin =====
The clone was discovered by Mitchell Fortner at a large nursery in Southern California (SoCal). The mother stand was subsequently damaged during a severe storm, leading to the propagation of several large cuttings. The name "Big Perm" is likely a humorous reference to the character from the movie *Friday* (set in Compton, as jokingly referenced in the community comments).

===== Cultivation Notes =====
While specific cultivation requirements for "Big Perm" are not detailed in the discussion, it follows standard *Trichocereus bridgesii* care. It should be grown in well-draining soil, provided with ample sunlight to encourage its signature long spine development, and watered deeply only when the soil is completely dry. The clone has been successfully propagated via grafting.

===== Community Discussion & Citations =====
//Analysis of the discussion reveals that Mitchell Fortner is the primary source of the clone, having discovered it in Southern California and distributed it to the community after a storm damaged his mother stand.//
