===== Description =====
"Clyde" is a Trichocereus clone recognized for its striking, fierce, and thick spination arising from its prominent areoles. It exhibits notably long spines and a robust growth habit. While specific rib counts and details regarding whether the epidermis is glaucous are limited, it is highly regarded for its formidable physical presence and ornamental value.

===== History & Origin =====
The clone is widely associated with the breeder "Misplant" (a prominent figure in the Trichocereus seed and cloning community). While the exact genetic lineage and discovery details remain somewhat obscure in general discussion, it has been heavily utilized in hybrid crosses, including crosses with "Sharxx Blue", Dawson's Trichocereus terscheckii, and SS02 x SS01 (often written as SS02x01).

===== Cultivation Notes =====
"Clyde" is noted for being an exceptionally vigorous grower and a prolific pupper, capable of producing multiple basal and areole pups simultaneously (with growers reporting up to four basal pups and two areole pups at once). It is described as hardy and fast-growing. Standard Trichocereus cultivation practices apply: provide well-draining soil, deep but infrequent watering during the active growing season, and adequate sunlight to maintain spine development.

| 2022 (approx) | Dan Valentine | "Clyde is my most vigorous pupper that I have had yet. 4 basal pups, and 2 areole pups all at practically the same time. I dont know much history behind clyde, only know it is a misplant creation, and has insanely long spines. It's a beauty to have in the garden. Quite a nice specimen. I guess we will have to hear what misplant has to say about this one" |
| 2022 (approx) | Oriole Gardens | "i love all the clyde hybrids.. clyde def brings that fierce thick spine to the table, hardy and fast growers imo." |

===== Credibility Notes =====
Bob Baker is a recognized expert within the Trichocereus community, and his contributions regarding hybrid crosses and clone history are assigned the highest confidence level. Stephen Solie is rated highly due to his specific mention of the SS02x01 x Clyde hybrid, reflecting hands-on experience with Clyde genetics. Dan Valentine is rated highly due to providing detailed, first-hand cultivation observations regarding the clone's specific pupping behavior and physical traits. Oriole Gardens is rated highly for providing consistent observations regarding the clone's growth rate and spine characteristics, aligning with the community consensus.
