===== Description =====
"El Willow" is a Trichocereus clone recognized for its exceptional girth and robust growth habit, maintaining notable thickness even near the growing tips. While detailed botanical descriptions of rib counts and spine coloration are limited, it is noted for having prominent basal spines that are difficult to access. The flowers of this clone are described by community members as looking very special.

===== History & Origin =====
The clone is closely associated with the New Zealand cactus community and the "Martin" group of clones (specifically clones A, B, C, and D). According to Martin Walker, these clones were grown from sibling seeds rather than being vegetative cuts of a single mother plant. The clone is named after or associated with the community member "El Willow." There is lighthearted community confusion or joking references linking the genetics to Knize (referred to colloquially as "Karlo Kenzii" or "Ken Keseei").

===== Cultivation Notes =====
This clone exhibits significant phenotypic variation depending on the climate in which it is grown, which has historically led to confusion when comparing different sibling clones (such as comparing Clone A to Clone C). It is capable of reaching massive proportions, with specimens documented at 49 cm and 52 cm in circumference.

For optimal growth, follow standard Trichocereus pachanoi cultivation guidelines: provide a highly gritty, well-draining soil mix, water deeply only when the soil has dried out completely during the active growing season, and expose to strong sunlight to encourage maximum girth and spine development.

===== Community Discussion & Citations =====
//The community discussion focuses on the impressive girth of the "Martin" sibling clones, with growers sharing measurements of 49 cm and 52 cm. The dialogue clarifies that the "Martin" line consists of multiple seed-grown sibling clones (A, B, C, and D) rather than a single clone, explaining the morphological differences observed in different growing conditions. Additionally, there is playful banter regarding the mislabeling of Knize genetics.//

This is the first I've heard of this, I've heard that this clone looks vere different in different climates but I reckon that probably comes from people having different 'Martin' clones eg comparing clone A to clone C" |

===== Credibility Notes =====
Martin Walker is ratedas he is a primary source of the clone's history, explaining the sibling seed origin of the Martin clones and providing direct measurements. Jesse Ames is ratedfor providing specific measurement data (52 cm) and detailing how climate affects the growth morphology of these clones.
