===== Description =====
The botanical characteristics of the clone "Half Dead Bridgesii" are not explicitly detailed in the provided community records. In general, Trichocereus bridgesii (syn. Echinopsis lageniformis) clones typically present a shrubby habit with light green to glaucous blue epidermis, 4 to 8 ribs, and prominent honey-colored to brown spines arising from distinct areoles.

===== History & Origin =====
The specific origin, breeder, and history of the "Half Dead Bridgesii" clone remain unverified in the provided discussion. The community notes instead trace the history of other prominent bridgesii and related cultivars:
* **Vernes Kates Bridgesii (Cactus Kate Bridgesii):** Originally sourced from Cactus Kate (who operated Desert Theatre Nursery in Watsonville, CA, alongside her husband Jay Jackson). Following their separation, Jackson operated a nursery in Escondido, CA (later sold to Brandon Bullard), while Kate continued the Watsonville location. The clone gained widespread recognition after Kate's passing, when Verne Robinson acquired and distributed the plants. It remains uncertain whether "Cactus Kate bridgesii" refers to a single clone or a collection of different bridgesii specimens grown by Kate.
* **Jaysus:** A clone originating from Jay Webber in Arizona.
* **Leopard:** A variegated clone grown from seed by Tanner Ochowicz, originating from a cross of Cactilicious Sausage x Dawsons Knuth. A separate, non-variegated "Green Leopard" clone is associated with Mallacht's Plants.

===== Cultivation Notes =====
As specific cultivation requirements for "Half Dead Bridgesii" were not detailed, general Trichocereus cultivation guidelines apply:
* **Substrate:** Grow in a highly gritty, well-draining soil mix (at least 50-70% inorganic pumice, perlite, or gravel) to prevent root rot.
* **Watering:** Water deeply during the active spring and summer growing season, allowing the soil to dry out completely between waterings. Suspend watering during winter dormancy.
* **Light:** Provide bright, filtered sunlight or partial direct sun. Protect from intense afternoon sun in extremely hot climates to prevent sunburn.
