====== Hillside Scopulicola ======

===== Description =====
"Hillside Scopulicola" (often referred to as "Hillside Scop") is a virtually spineless variety of //Trichocereus scopulicola//. The most notable botanical feature of this clone is its floral morphology: while the inner petals of the flower are white, the outer sepals and tepals exhibit a distinct pink coloration that is significantly more pronounced than in typical //T. scopulicola// specimens. This frequently leads to the clone being colloquially described as having "pink flowers."

===== History & Origin =====
This clone originates from South Australia, where it was sourced from a local nursery named 'Hillside Herbs'.

===== Cultivation Notes =====
No specific cultivation requirements were detailed in the community discussion. As a typical //Trichocereus scopulicola//, it generally thrives in well-draining soil mixes with a high inorganic fraction. It prefers deep but infrequent watering during the active growing season and should be kept dry and cool during winter dormancy. It performs well in full sun to partial shade, though protection from intense afternoon sun may prevent sunburn on its smooth, spineless epidermis.

The discussion clarifies the geographical origin of the clone and corrects a common misconception regarding its flower color, noting that the pink coloration is restricted to the sepals and tepals rather than the entire flower.

| 2024 (approx) | Gus Freeman | 8 | "Hillside scop is from a nursery in South Australia called 'Hillside Herbs'. It's a nice, spineless scop and it has pink sepals. Some people call the flowers 'pink', but really they are white and it's just the sepals/tepals that are pinker than usual." |

===== Credibility Notes =====
Gus Freeman was assigned a high confidence score (8/10) because they provided precise, verifiable details regarding the specific nursery of origin ('Hillside Herbs' in South Australia) and offered a clear, botanically accurate distinction regarding the flower's pink sepals versus its white petals, resolving the community query authoritatively.
