====== Huachilla ======
{{clones:h:media:huachilla:36d084d3d6600152.jpg?400}}

===== Description =====
The botanical characteristics of the clone "Huachilla" remain poorly documented in formal literature. Based on preliminary community observations and its suggested hybrid lineage, it is hypothesized to be a hybrid of //Trichocereus huascha// and //Trichocereus bridgesii//. If this lineage is correct, the plant would likely exhibit intermediate traits: a semi-shrubby or clustering growth habit, moderately thin ribs (potentially 8 to 12), and variable spination ranging from needle-like yellow-brown spines to longer, stouter central spines characteristic of //T. bridgesii//. The epidermis is expected to be light to medium green, potentially showing glaucous properties when young.

===== History & Origin =====
The precise origin, breeder, and introduction history of the "Huachilla" clone are currently undocumented. It appears to be a minor clone circulating within collector circles, with some community members associating it or comparing it to a clone known as "Super Pup."

===== Cultivation Notes =====
No specific cultivation requirements have been recorded for "Huachilla." Growers should follow standard cultivation practices for columnar //Trichocereus// hybrids:
  * **Substrate:** A highly porous, mineral-rich soil mix (at least 50% pumice, perlite, or gravel) to ensure rapid drainage.
  * **Watering:** Thorough watering during the active spring and summer growing seasons, allowing the soil to dry out completely between waterings. Keep completely dry during winter dormancy.
  * **Light:** Bright, filtered light or morning sun with afternoon shade, especially in hot climates, to prevent sunburn on the epidermis.

===== Community Discussion & Citations =====
The online discussion regarding "Huachilla" is brief and speculative. Community members have focused primarily on attempting to identify its parentage and potential synonymy with other known clones. Eden Taurian suggested a hybrid origin involving //T. huascha// and //T. bridgesii//, while Lance Santos noted a strong similarity or potential synonymy to the clone "Super Pup."

===== Credibility Notes =====
Both Eden Taurian and Lance Santos were assigned confidence scores of 4/10. Their comments represent casual community speculation rather than verified botanical facts, lack detailed observations or photographic evidence, and do not carry the weight of established expert consensus. As their scores fell below the threshold of 7, their direct quotes have been excluded from the citations table.
