===== Description =====
KK2148 is a collection associated with ''Trichocereus tarmaensis'' (often considered closely allied with or a phenotype of the ''Trichocereus cuzcoensis'' complex). Plants grown from this accession typically exhibit the classic traits of the Tarma population: robust stems with distinct, rounded ribs, prominent areoles, and strong, light-colored to brownish spines that are characteristic of cuzcoensis-type cacti. The epidermis ranges from light green to slightly glaucous depending on light exposure and age.

===== History & Origin =====
This clone/seed line originates from a collection by the Czech distributor Karel Knize in Tarma, Peru, under the field number KK2148. Seeds and specimens from this collection were distributed globally, notably being sold by Shaman Australis Botanicals (SAB) in Australia for approximately 15 years.

===== Cultivation Notes =====
No specific cultivation quirks were noted in the community discussion. Like most species in the ''Trichocereus cuzcoensis'' and ''T. tarmaensis'' group, KK2148 is a hardy grower. It prefers a very well-draining mineral soil mix, deep but infrequent watering during the active growing season, and full sun to partial shade. It shows typical frost tolerance common to high-altitude Andean Trichocereus species.

===== Community Discussion & Citations =====
//The community discussion centers on verifying the taxonomic identity of the KK2148 field number. While some collectors initially confused or grouped these plants with ''Trichocereus cuzcoensis'' due to morphological similarities, consensus points to them being representative of the true ''Trichocereus tarmaensis'' population from Tarma, Peru.//

| 2025 (approx) | Patrick Noll | "The population from that field number was collected in Tarma and it's straightforward Tarmaensis. SAB sold them for 15 years but I haven't seen a lot of them lately. Will see if I have the old photo. When I grew them originally they just looked like Cuzcoensis to me, but with half a life time in between I think those had the correct label." |
