===== Description =====
MM is a Trichocereus clone widely believed to be a *Trichocereus bridgesii* (Bolivian Torch) cultivar. While specific morphological descriptions are sparse, community members identify it as a "bridge," suggesting it exhibits typical species characteristics such as prominent ribs, yellowish-brown spines, and a glaucous green epidermis. Additionally, it is reported to commonly exhibit a "dumbo" mutation and feature attractive, short spines. It is also noted by growers to be a highly vigorous grower.

===== History & Origin =====
The clone's history has multiple narratives in the community, potentially due to naming overlaps.

First, it is closely associated with the breeder Misplant (Bob Baker), with ongoing speculation that "MM" stands for "Medicine Man." However, Baker has not officially confirmed or denied this connection, leading to persistent debate regarding whether MM and Medicine Man are the exact same clone or distinct selections.

Second, community member David Gonzalez claims to have originally named the clone in the United States and distributed it over the years. Seedlings of unknown parentage associated with the name have also been reported from other sources (such as "mimis davios"), suggesting potential naming confusion or multiple lines.

Third, there is a strong association in the community between "MM" (referring to "Moran") and a clone named "Tammy". According to Byron Fan, he and a grower named Will rescued the mother plant from a trailer park unit where the new owner, Tammy, wanted all in-ground cacti removed. Will subsequently distributed truckloads of the clone throughout Northern California to ensure its survival and propagation. Community members note that "Moran" (MM) and "Tammy" are very likely the same clone, though distinct from another clone named "Kathleen".

===== Cultivation Notes =====
As a suspected *Trichocereus bridgesii*, MM should be grown in a highly gritty, well-draining soil mix (typically 50-70% inorganic material like pumice or perlite). It prefers deep, infrequent watering during the active growing season and should be kept completely dry and cool during winter dormancy. It is sensitive to humid conditions and excessive moisture, which can cause black humidity spots. Cultivators report that it is an exceptionally vigorous grower ("grows like a champ") once established.

===== Community Discussion & Citations =====
//Analysis of the discussion.//
The community discussion surrounding MM is divided between its identity as Misplant's "Medicine Man" and its potential identity as the "Moran" clone (which is closely linked to "Tammy"). While some hobbyists express fatigue over the naming ambiguity and dismiss it as typical marketing mystique surrounding a bridgesii clone, others trace its provenance to David Gonzalez in the US. Meanwhile, historical accounts from Byron Fan and Felix Figueroa clarify the origin of the Tammy/Moran line, which was salvaged from a trailer park and widely distributed for free in Northern California.

^ Date ^ Speaker ^ Key Insight/Quote ^
| 2022 (approx) | Byron Fan | "Will and I found it at a trailer park. The new owners of a particular unit wanted all the in ground cacti gone, so we removed what we could. Tammy was named after the new owner of the unit" |
| 2022 (approx) | Felix Figueroa | "After Will and Byron saved this plant.. Will drove all over NorCal giving literal truck loads away for free making sure it got to folks who would continue propagating it and then sell/trade/gift it so it would be available to the community." |
| 2024 (approx) | David Gonzalez | "Unless there is another one I’m the person who gave it the name in the USA and have sold a few over the years." |
| 2024 (approx) | Liam Leslie | "I just picked up one from David Gonzalez who might be able to share more, but I believe he was on Facebook for a bit then disappeared. It also supposedly commonly has a dumbo mutation - nice short spines too!" |
| 2025 (approx) | Chris CactusLife | "Bob only hints at it being med man, won’t confirm or deny, but I’ve had my doubts too." |
| 2025 (approx) | Krüz Kalke | "Misplant consistently implies in comments in the groups that MM is the same clone as Medicine Man, but to my knowledge has never explicitly confirmed or denied it." |

===== Credibility Notes =====
David Gonzalez is ratedas he claims direct responsibility for naming and distributing the clone in the US. Byron Fan is ratedas a primary source who personally rescued and named the Tammy/Moran clone. Liam Leslie is ratedas a direct buyer who corroborates Gonzalez's role and provides specific morphological details. Felix Figueroa is ratedfor providing detailed historical context on the distribution of the rescued clone. Chris CactusLife and Krüz Kalke are ratedbecause their accounts of Bob Baker's (Misplant) ambiguous communication patterns are highly consistent, reflecting a documented consensus within the community.
