====== NZ pach tillford ======

===== Description =====
"NZ pach tillford" (also known simply as "Tilford") is a cultivar of //Trichocereus pachanoi// originating from New Zealand. As a typical New Zealand pachanoi, it generally exhibits the classic traits of the species, including a green epidermis, distinct ribs with shallow notches above the areoles, and short, inconspicuous spines. Specific morphological variations unique to this clone remain sparsely documented.

===== History & Origin =====
The clone was introduced to the community by Māris Dainis. It was originally an unnamed, generic //Trichocereus pachanoi// clone grown in New Zealand, which Dainis received from a friend. When Dainis began utilizing the plant in his breeding efforts, he designated the name "Tilford" after the street where his friend lived to keep track of its lineage.

===== Cultivation Notes =====
No specific cultivation quirks have been reported for this clone. It should be grown under standard //Trichocereus pachanoi// conditions: a highly gritty, well-draining soil mix, regular watering and fertilizing during the active spring and summer growing seasons, and a dry winter dormancy to prevent rot. It performs best in full sun to light afternoon shade.

===== Community Discussion & Citations =====
//The discussion clarifies the naming origin of the clone, confirming it is a localized New Zealand selection named for tracking breeding lines rather than an import or a wild collection. Additionally, community inquiries regarding a potential connection to New Plymouth, NZ were dismissed by the finder.//
