====== Peru John ======

===== Description =====
There is currently no detailed botanical description available for the "Peru John" clone. Based on its name and community identification, it is classified as a *Trichocereus peruvianus* (Peruvian Torch) clone. Specific morphological features such as rib count, spine length, spine color, and epidermal coloration remain undocumented.

===== History & Origin =====
The origin of "Peru John" is poorly documented. Community reports indicate that it is an Australian clone, though the specific breeder, discovery location, or introduction history are currently unknown.

===== Cultivation Notes =====
No clone-specific cultivation requirements have been recorded for "Peru John". As a suspected *Trichocereus peruvianus* cultivar, standard cultivation guidelines apply:
  * **Substrate:** Use a highly porous, mineral-heavy soil mix (50-70% inorganic material like pumice, perlite, or granite grit) to ensure rapid drainage and prevent root rot.
  * **Watering:** Follow a "soak and dry" cycle. Water thoroughly during the active growing season (spring and summer) only when the substrate has dried out completely. Suspend watering during winter dormancy.
  * **Lighting:** Provide bright, indirect sunlight or filtered morning sun. While *T. peruvianus* can tolerate full sun, gradual acclimation is necessary to prevent sunburn, especially in hot climates.
  * **Temperature:** Protect from hard frosts. Keep the plant dry and cool during winter to encourage dormancy.

===== Credibility Notes =====
Jordan Barrs was assigned a confidence score of 7. While the comment is brief and lacks corroborating discussion from other users, the assertion of the clone's Australian and *T. peruvianus* origin is stated directly and without contradiction. However, due to the lack of detail, it represents the limit of verifiable community knowledge.
