===== Description =====
There is currently no detailed botanical description available for the "Rome" clone. Specific morphological features—such as rib count, spine length, spine color, areole density, and the glaucousness or coloration of the epidermis—remain undocumented in the primary community discussions.

===== History & Origin =====
The clone "Rome" (frequently confused with the spellings "Roma" or "Roam") was grown from seed by an unnamed Italian collector and grower. The exact parentage of this seed-grown plant is unknown. Specimen propagation and distribution were primarily handled by Andrea Rossi, who distributed the clone to other collectors.

===== Cultivation Notes =====
No specific cultivation requirements or growth habits have been documented for this clone. In the absence of specialized instructions, standard *Trichocereus* cultivation practices should be followed:
* **Light:** Bright, indirect light to full sun, depending on local climate intensity.
* **Watering:** A thorough soak-and-dry regimen, watering only when the substrate is completely dry. Reduce watering significantly during winter dormancy.
* **Substrate:** A highly porous, well-draining mineral mix (at least 50% pumice, perlite, or gravel) to prevent root rot.

===== Community Discussion & Citations =====
//Analysis of the discussion.//
The community discussion primarily focuses on establishing the correct nomenclature and provenance of the clone. Members successfully clarified that the correct name is "Rome" rather than "Roma" or "Roam." The lineage was traced back to an Italian seed-grown plant distributed by Andrea Rossi, which Rossi himself confirmed within the discussion.

^ Date ^ Speaker ^ Confidence Score ^ Key Insight/Quote ^
| 2024 (approx) | Andrea Rossi | 10 | "That's all correct." |
| 2024 (approx) | Yoav Golan | 9 | "Rome come from seed grown plant from an ' Italian collector, grower don't know who the parents were '" |
| 2023 (approx) | Dave Oberste | 8 | "I got mine from Andrea Rossi some time ago." |
| 2023 (approx) | James Peterson | 7 | "I believe Rome is correct." |

===== Credibility Notes =====
* **Andrea Rossi (10/10):** Rated as the highest authority because he is the primary source and distributor of the clone; his direct confirmation validates the historical claims of other community members.
* **Yoav Golan (9/10):** Provided precise historical details regarding the clone's origin as an Italian seed-grown plant of unknown parentage, which was subsequently verified by Rossi.
* **Dave Oberste (8/10):** Provided reliable first-hand provenance data, confirming he acquired his specimen directly from Andrea Rossi labeled specifically as "Rome."
* **James Peterson (7/10):** Demonstrated careful attention to taxonomic accuracy by cross-referencing spelling variations ("Rome" vs. "Roma" vs. "Roam") to establish the correct name.
