====== shamans garden ======

===== Description =====
This clone is identified as a *Trichocereus peruvianus* (syn. *Echinopsis peruviana*). Detailed botanical descriptions, including specific rib counts, areole spacing, spine length/color, and epidermis color, are not explicitly detailed in the community discussion. However, it is recognized as a visually appealing specimen within the community.

===== History & Origin =====
There is historical naming confusion surrounding the name "Shamans Garden," which actually refers to two distinct lines:
1. A clone grown from seed collected directly from a shaman's garden in Peru.
2. An Australian clone that was initially distributed under the name *T. peruvianus* 'Shamans Garden'.

To resolve this naming conflict, the proprietor of Trichocereus Australia (trichocereus.com.au) renamed the Australian clone to **_T. peruvianus_ 'TA01'** (Trichocereus Australia 01). There is also speculative community mention of a *Trichocereus bridgesii* associated with a shaman's garden, but this remains unverified.

===== Cultivation Notes =====
No specific cultivation notes were provided in the discussion. For *Trichocereus peruvianus* clones, standard cultivation practices apply: grow in a highly gritty, well-draining soil mix (e.g., 50% pumice or perlite). Water deeply only when the soil is completely dry, and suspend watering during winter dormancy. Provide bright, filtered light or full sun depending on local intensity, acclimating slowly to prevent sunburn.

| 2023 (approx) | Gary Austin | "There are 2 'shaman's garden' one is seed from peru the other is from Australia and was renamed 'TA01'" |
| 2023 (approx) | Cakti Spinez | "While going through an old message I realized that I messed up the initial name for this clone. The name that I had on this plant originally was T. peruvianus ‘Shamans Garden’ which I thought was right till I received a ‘Shamans Garden’ clone from a forum member that was quite different. Upon further investigation I realized that this clone was grown from seed collected from a shamans garden in Peru, hence why I had that name on it. I’ve decided to name it T. peruvianus 'TA01'(Trichocerues Australia) instead, this is the first of many new clones that will be available at some stage in future 😊" |
| 2023 (approx) | Alan Howard | "There is a person on FB called Shamans Garden maybe that is it. Also I remember a story of an actual shamans garden but can't remember all the details other than the plant he used was bridgesii not pachanoi. Also maybe this - https://m.facebook.com/.../permalink/2093501514137563/..." |
