===== Description =====
"Verne's Wild Andes 1" is a clone recognized within the community as a *Trichocereus peruvianus* (Peruvian Torch). Morphological details from the discussion are sparse, but community members highlight its distinct, prominent ("extra") areoles. As a Peruvian torch cultivar, it is characterized by a stellar blue-green (glaucous) epidermis, though specific rib counts, spine colors, and exact measurements remain undocumented in the immediate discussion.

===== History & Origin =====
This clone was distributed by the well-known grower Verne (Verne's Cactus). According to community consensus and expert testimony, "Verne's Wild Andes 1" was grown from Icaro DNA (often spelled "Ikaros") seed, which is sourced from wild populations in Peru.

===== Cultivation Notes =====
No specific cultivation notes were provided in the discussion. General *Trichocereus pachanoi* and *T. peruvianus* care guidelines should be followed:
* **Substrate**: Use a highly porous, well-draining soil mix containing at least 50% inorganic grit (such as pumice, perlite, or coarse sand) to prevent root rot.
* **Watering**: Implement a strict "soak and dry" method. Water thoroughly during the active growing season (spring through autumn) only when the soil has dried out completely. Keep dry during winter dormancy.
* **Exposure**: Provide bright, filtered sunlight or full morning sun. Acclimate slowly to intense afternoon sun to avoid scorching the epidermis.
