===== Description =====
Phomopsis is a fungal disease that presents as oblong patterns of reddish-brown to tan lesions. Often centered on or encompassing a portion of the areole and has a light tan border surrounding the lesion. The black pycnidia fruiting bodies are scattered uniformly within. Phomopsis sporulation is favored in cool, wet weather; though grows aggressively at 84 deg F.

===== Cultivation Notes =====
To treat and manage Phomopsis infections, the following chemical fungicides are recommended:
  * **Mancozeb**: A broad-spectrum contact fungicide used to kill spores and control surface spread.
  * **Propiconazole 14.3**: A systemic fungicide that provides internal protection and treatment. Note this product is not safe for food crops.

===== Credibility Notes =====
Dushi Kaunt was assigned a confidence score of 6/10 for providing specific, actionable chemical remedies (Mancozeb and Propiconazole 14.3) to address the pathogen. However, because there was no broader consensus or verification by established experts such as Gee Bee in the discussion, the score remains moderate.
