//Left- BBS mother stand located at Poots. Right- clones of BBS sold by Poots.//
===== Description =====
There is some mild debate in the community regarding its exact species, though it is most frequently categorized as a short-spined Trichocereus pachanoi or a pachanoi/peruvianus hybrid. It produces an intense, powdery blue-grey farina on its new growth, especially when grown in filtered light or optimal conditions. It typically features thick, robust columns with very short, understated spination.
===== History & Origin =====
Brians Blue Skies is a pachanoi sold by Poots Cactus Nursery located in Ripon, CA. The mother stand (pictured) can be glimpsed behind a fence between two sheds on the east side of the main sales area. Brian, the namesake, can be found working hard there nearly any day they are open. While Bill Poot started the place with a love of all cacti, Brian, his son, brought the love for Trichocereus. This clone received its name when a cut was purchased from Brian by the proprietor of Cactus Affinity. Cactus Affinity's designation for this clone is JS444.
===== Cultivation Notes =====
This clone has been praised by growers in wet and humid climates such as Florida for having a strong resistance to disease.
