Decosta originates from New Zealand. An old man owned the ancient stand and it was relocated and distributed worldwide by breeder Ross Gurau. This clone had at least one large crested section Ross G found on the mother stand during relocation and it continued to crest from different cuts under Ross G's care. During the time he was active, Ross G had a set of domes that contained huge mature stands of a number of Trichocereus that he used to produce massive amounts of seed. Many, many Decosta cross seedlings have been grown out across the globe. Ross G has since moved, sold the property, and the state of the stands is currently unknown.
