Excess exposure to Light, UV rays, and heat can damage the epidermal tissue of the plant. Sudden exposure to intense solar radiation or high temperatures as might be seen in a heat wave or moving/rotating a plant without adequate acclimation exacerbate these issues. Some chemical or oil applications to the skin can cause photosensitivity(sensitivity to light). The damage can take several forms and appearances. While mild cases result in localized yellowing in spots or of faces that the plant can recover from, severe burns can lead to scarring of whole faces/sections, tissue necrosis, mushy rot, and secondary infections.
