Mini-Me

Mini-me is a trichocereus bridgesii that seems to just want to stay very very small and skinny . I originally got it as a small seed grown cactus with a bunch of basal pups from Trader Joe’s grocery store years ago . I haven’t seen Trader Joe’s sell any trichocereus since then , so I’m glad I grabbed it .

I have potted it in large pots , small pots , in ground and grafted it and it grew a bit thicker as a graft but still never wider than 2” . I’ve grown several cuttings on their own roots in different areas than the mother plant and all of them seem to stay at about 1”thick. Whether Mini Me is grown in full sun or full shade , in pots or inground it stays small .

Really a mini lil guy , it does grow and root quickly, and it definitely does get plump , it just doesn’t get to be thicker like a standard trichocereus does.

Mini me grows many branches , tons of basal pups, it grows tons of 4 wind collumns and it’s standard rib count is 5 with an occasional 6 rib count but rarely if ever grows 7 ribs .
